A Day In The Life Of Vans Surf Team Rider Leila Hurst

I recently travels to Ecuador. This was a team event with about 25 other countries. Hawaii had a team of 12 kids, 4 boys 16 and under, 4 older boys 18 and under and 4 girls 18 and under. I went in May to Ecuador and it was a great experience.We ended up placing 2nd over all and Australia won!It was blazing hot but I had a blast meeting all the other people from different countries.

The first picture is of my friends Kyle and Keanu on our way to Ecuador on the plain. It was a such a mission to get there!!!

The second picture is of the Hawaii team at the parade. All the teams get dressed up and they put on a huge parade for us. Our dresses were supper cute :)

The third picture is of me surfing on the final day of the competition. The waves were perfect lefts on a point break. I made it to the semis this day but unfortunately went down in the Semi Final round.
