Ross Christie's practice combines drawing, sculpture, bookmaking and installation taking inspiration from comic books, cartoons, video games, fanzines and graffiti. The main body of Ross' work is focused on the act of drawing. This drawing work ranges from small, detailed drawings to large canvasses and walls while the materials range from fine-liner pens to spray paint and paint markers, often combining a variety of scales and sizes of drawings into larger scale installations, bombarding the viewer with visual information.
Self published fanzines and comics are a major part of Ross' practice and often the idea of distributing and selling these fanzines forms the basis for large scale installations. These installations take the form of pop-up shop/studio/gallery spaces allowing the viewer to browse and buy not just Ross' work but fanzines, t-shirts, badges and stickers by a wide variety of collaborators and local artists and designers.
Alongside his artistic practice Ross also actively pursues the organisation and creation of temporary exhibition spaces and guerrilla stores throughout Scotland, bolstering the burgeoning underground art and design scenes springing up in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
